Our guide was delightful, but the waiting was not. We were told to be in our lobby at 7:15 for a pick up time between 720 and 740, at 825 our bus arrived.
We then went to the terminal where we waited for our next bus and then off to the boat, where we waited for the food to arrive, etc. There seemed to be a lot of waiting.
After we got underway things were better, there was plenty to drink, sodas and water. The breakfast snacks of fruit and cake were nice. Lunch was so, so - beef or chicken with rice and potatoes, mixed veggies and a basic salad.
But I will say our Guide was informative and fun to listen to - the trip through the locks was worth the time.
I am glad that I went on this trip.
This was an excellent tour with JC as our tour guide. Although it was a long day, since we started at 6:30 AM and finished by 6:00PM, it was well worth it.The canal is an engineering miracle and I was really glad to take this tour. The staff were all courteous, the food was moderately good but JC's explanation made it fun.

The tour was great. The tour guide did a good job of explaining things (safety protocol and local sites) and introduced a little humor as well. It was a full day! Pick ups start at 6 am and the last hotel drop offs end near 8 pm. The boat ride end to end was 8 am to after 6 pm. It was the full canal
This was an absolute highlight!
The entire crew and staff were so nice. They would answer any and all of our questions. We were even invited to drive the boat for a bit through the canal. Truly a once in a lifetime experience!
Go to Panama was a horrible tour director. They lied about pickup time, they lied about starting time for the boat trip, they were totally disorganized and incompetent getting us to the ship. Cannot say enough about how excellent the tour guide was, however. His English was excellent, his knowledge was deep, there was no question he could not answer. But the tour company, never, ever, ever would I recommend them at all, and for that reason I will never book a tour through Viator again, you do not screen your subcontractors.l
For years we wanted to do a full transit of the Panama Canal without going on a cruise. I was excited to find this cruise! We flew down to Panama City. The Cruise picked us up at the door of our B and B in an air conditioned bus. We drove thru the countryside to the dock where we boarded the boat. Juan Carlos was our narrated, and he was excellent. Thorough with a sense of humor. It was really nice being able to go back and forth from being outdoors either shaded or in the sun, to being in the air conditioning. Being right next to cruise ships and container vessels as we went through the locks was awesome. At the end of the day we were driven back to the front door of our B and B. A very memorable day! I highly recommend this tour!
