Auf schreckliche Weise sehr beeindruckend!

This was a heart-wrenching, sobering experience. Our guide was knowledgeable and spoke English very well.

It's really difficult to put into words how the experience was at Auschwitz and Birkenau. It's something that I think everyone should understand and appreciate. It was completely unplanned but we booked to visit on the 78th anniversary since they were used as concentration camps. There were certain areas we were not able to go into, which was completely justified and we understood. It was nice to see the Polish army dressed and a commemoration for those lost in the times the camps were open, were remembered. Our guide, Margaret, was absolutely incredible, so knowledgeable and very honest about her feelings about the camps and what happened. I thought she made the trip a brilliant one and we'd recommend her highly.
The feeling you get in the camp is indescribable, but I would suggest actually listening and taking in where you are rather than taking photographs every 2 seconds like some of our group did. Some parts were particularly difficult to see, such as children's items and some pictures, and hard to imagine the traumas the people kept there faced. It wasn't a 'nice' experience, but an interesting and important area of our history that everyone should see in their lifetime.

Some recommendations I would make are:
Don't take children. There was a young girl in our group who was too young to understand and you could tell she was bored.
It's an immensely long walk so wear flat/comfortable shoes.
We got a good experience and understanding but we were a bit rushed at the end as most of the group were then going on to the Salt Mine so they had to stick to a time frame. Fair enough but we'd have liked to ask our guide some more questions and take in the experience a bit more.

Overall, an excellent tour to gain a small insight into such a big historical event.

The local Krakow agency were excellent switched into English once they knew, picked me up and returned me to my apartment. They took all of the worry out of a stranger in a foreign country wishing to visit Auschwitz. Highly recommended. The Auschwitz experience was extraordinary and I'm still processing it!.

Harrowing! God bless them all! A really informative, well organised trip, with really passionate tour guides. Vehicle transfer was good and the onboard video put the tour into context! Thank you a trip I will never forget!

The tour itself was incredible, one thing ticked off my bucket list that's for sure. The bad things, the tour guide didn't hVe very good English and had to stop to think of the words she needed to say which confused some of the other people on the tour. The headsets we were also given to listen to her were not very good and crackled the whole way round Auschwitz and on numerous occasions she walked way ahead of the touring pack and our headsets were out of signal, I was with my pregnant wife on a very hot day, didn't want to push her to hard!! Must go on this tour though, these issues were outdone when we really got our heads into what actually happened there during WW2.

This tour was incredible! It was a very humbling experience for me and believe everyone should visit these sites. The tour guide Margaret was very knowledgable and friendly as well. No complaints here!

We were picked up promptly at the hotel and all pre activity info was good.I thought we were meant to see a film on the way but that did not happen. When we arrived we had to wait 45 mins for the guide who was late.I dont know who organises the guide but ours not only was late but really was quite poor.We felt rushed along the whole time and although he gave a reasonable amount of information it was fairly basic most of which we were already aware of.We literally had a 10 min break before rushing to the second camp where again we were run around at break neck speed.I heard other guides giving a lot of info about the day to day life, food and regime of the people.None of this was given to us and I found myself listening into them All in all very disapponting

Tour transport was handled efficiently by Anna.
Our guide at the site was very knowledgeable and told stories that personalized the horrific acts that took place there.
We must never forget this so that we don and #39;t repeat it.
Everyone should see this.
