4-Day Tour to Washington DC and Niagara Falls from New York

See the sights of Washington DC and experience the awesome power of Niagara Falls on an unforgettable four-day trip from New York City. With transportation, accommodation and tours arranged for you, you can sit back and relax while enjoying your visit to two of the East Coast's major highlights.

Your four-day excursion begins with a drive through New Jersey, Delaware and Maryland. On arrival in Washington DC you will visit the Air and Space Museum, and pass the Library of Congress, Federal Supreme Court and US Capitol. You'll see the Washington, Jefferson and Lincoln monuments, view the White House and take a visit to Arlington Cemetery.

After spending the night in Washington DC, you'll travel across scenic Upstate New York and the rolling hills of the Finger Lakes, before reaching Niagara Falls. Take a walk after sunset to view the massive, illuminated waterfalls.

Next morning, you'll take a cruise on the Niagara River aboard the Maid of the Mist boat, for breathtaking views and an up-close experience of the falls. The 30-minute cruise takes you through the foaming waters to the base of the American Falls and the basin of Horseshoe Falls. You will get close enough to feel the cool mist of the falls on your skin.

Important Passport and Visa Information:

Some nationalities may need multiple entry visa's to the U.S.A. and a Canadian visa. All visa requirements are the sole responsibility of the traveler. During the season Mid April - Mid October, when the Maid of the Mist is operating, the tour group stays at a hotel on the American side of the Falls. During the winter months, when the Maid of the Mist is not operating, the tour stays on the Canadian side of the Falls.

U.S and Canadian Citizens: Must bring a passport for re-entry to the United States. Children, ages 18 and under only require a birth certificate. Non-U.S. Citizens: Either a Passport, I-94, Multiple Entry Visa or Resident Alien Card is required for re-entry to the United States.

Reiseplan:

Day 1: New York - Washington DC
Travel south to Washington through New Jersey, Delaware and Maryland. Upon arrival in Washington DC you will visit the Air and Space Museum where hundreds of artifacts of aviation and space exploration can be found. Pass by the Library of the Congress, Federal Supreme Court and view the US Capitol where elected Senators and representatives meet to shape US legislative policy. Continue passing by the Washington and Jefferson's monuments and have a stop to visit Lincoln, Vietnam and the Korean War memorials. End the day by viewing the world famous White House, home to the American Presidents. Overnight in Washington DC (Crowne Plaza Crystal City Hotel or similar).

Day 2: Washington D.C. - Philadelphia - New Jersey
Begin the day by visiting the Arlington National Cemetery. Our walking tour will bring us to the burial sites of Robert and John F. Kennedy We'll continue walking to see the changing of the guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Then travel north to Philadelphia, the "Birthplace of a New Nation". Pass by the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall, where the Declaration of Independence was signed and the U.S. Constitution written. Overnight in New Jersey.

Day 3: New Jersey - Niagara Falls
Travel northwest through the beautiful Mountains and across scenic upstate New York. Experience the state's diverse ethnic heritage and the rolling hills of the Finger Lakes, one of the country's premier wine producing areas, before reaching today's highlight, Niagara Falls. After sunset enjoy a walking tour to view the massive, illuminated waterfalls. Overnight accommodation  (Quality Hotel and Suites or similar).

Day 4: Niagara Falls - New York
This morning enjoy breathtaking views of the Falls when you take a cruise on Niagara River, aboard the Maid of the Mist. You will get amazing close-ups at the base of the thundering waterfalls and feel the awesome power of the water. From mid-October to April when Maid of the Mist is not operating, you will the boat ride will be substituted with an awe inspiring visit to the Scenic Tunnels behind the Canadian Falls. After the cruise, return through picturesque countryside to New York City.
