Neuschwanstein is a definite must see when visiting Germany. My wife and I were amazed at this spectacular castle. The guide was very knowledgeable about the history of Mad King Ludwig and the castle itself. The train ride from the Hauptbahnhof in Munich was also very enjoyable taking in the scenery of the Bavarian landscape the entire way, and the small alpine town near the castle called Fussen is really neat my wife and I would like to spend some time in Fussen next time we are in Germany. Pictures don't do justice for Neuschwanstein, it truly is a must see, and it's no wonder that it's the most popular tourist attraction in Germany! One note, as a few others on here stated, the walk up to Neuschwanstein from the base is really quite a walk. It's not even so much the distance itself, but the incline of the hill you walk up is quite steep. Had we realized this, we honestly would've paid the horse drawn carriage to take us up for comfort and to allow more time spent at the castle. The only other point I will mention is be sure to eat a hearty breakfast before leaving Munich, as there wasn't anytime to stop at any of the places to eat which will make for a long time without eating you leave Munich around 10 and don't return until after 6.

It was a long day, but the sight of castle with the snow around on the ground was well worth the journey. The bus ride to and from the train staion at Fussen was interesting to say the least, though added to the entertainment of the day. All in all a delightful day.

It was great, but it could have been better organized. We missed the first bus to the castle and then had to run up to make our tour. But it was still great

An unbelievable experience. Magical and majestic during the winter.

Everything about the tour was wonderful - our guide, the train ride from Munich to Fussen. However, the one negative thing that I would mention is that there is no transportation from the local bus up to the Castle itself and down after the tour. The particular day we visited, it was snowing and quite slippery and treacherous. While a horse drawn carriage was available, it was an additional cost which could have easily been included in the total cost of the tour. As a convenience to your customers, this may be something to consider when this tour is offered in winter.

The tour leader was wonderful. She was very knowledgeable and was able to share that knowledge with us even though the group was considerably large. The only suggestion I could give would be to let the tour group know there is a bus available to take you to the castle as well as the return trip down the long and winding road. I personally found the walk up to the castle almost more than I could stand, but I took it slowly and made it up in time to tour with the rest of my group. I highly recommend this tour!

Fantastic and affordable way to see one of the most scenic castles in the world. Guide was friendly and helpful, yet allowed us enough freedom to go off on our own at times.
